Short answer

SBP and card acquiring do not have to be competing choices. Many online businesses benefit from an approved mix of methods that lets each customer select a familiar journey.

  • SBP is confirmed in a banking application.
  • Card acquiring uses a card payment journey.
  • Actual pricing and availability depend on the project.
  • Evaluate conversion and operations, not only the headline rate.

How the customer journeys differ

With SBP, the customer opens a banking application through a link or QR code and confirms the payment. In a card flow, the customer enters or selects card details on a payment page. The exact number of steps depends on device, banking app and checkout implementation.

A desktop customer may prefer QR, while a mobile customer may choose a stored card or direct bank link. One method does not always cover every situation.

What to compare beyond fees

Pricing matters but does not describe the full economics. Review payment success, abandoned attempts, confirmation time, refunds, support, reconciliation, average ticket and method availability for the audience.

Terms should not be copied from another business: industry, jurisdiction, turnover and risk affect the banking and payment decision.

  • checkout-to-success conversion;
  • repeated attempts and failure rate;
  • refund and support operating cost;
  • time required for reconciliation and reporting.

When to combine methods

An online store can present SBP and cards together and test their order and visual treatment. QR may be faster for some buyers, while others are more familiar with cards. Card acceptance still requires separate banking approval.

Payment links can complement both methods for sales through support, invoicing or another approved remote channel.

How to make the decision

Define customer geography, device mix, average ticket and the usual buying journey. Agree the available methods and launch a measurable checkout. Then compare conversion and operating cost using real transaction data.

WHITECAPITAL can assemble payment infrastructure for an approved project but cannot guarantee a particular method before KYB/KYC and banking approval.
